MERCIA AIKIDO
AFFILIATIONS
Go Shin Kai
Go Shin Kai was created through the amalgamation of five founding Clubs, which range in size and geographical location throughout the United Kingdom.
The founding clubs are Bloomsbury Aikido Club, Gloucester Aikido Club, Kidderminster Aikido Club and Zanshin-Kai Aikido Club.
Go Shin Kai is a full member of the British Aikido Board (BAB) and all coaches, individual members and dojos are insured through this relationship.
Aikikai Foundation
The Aikikai Foundation (Hombu Dojo) was officially recognized by the Japanese government in 1940, and is the parent organization for the development and popularization of Aikido throughout the world.
The grading of all members is carried out according to the regulations and syllabus of the Aikikai Foundation.
British Aikido Board
The British Aikido Board (BAB) is the only National Governing Body for Aikido in the United Kingdom.
The BAB is recognised by Sport England – a process that determines which National Governing Bodies (NGBs) are responsible for governing sporting activities the Sports Councils support.
The BAB provides support to the majority of Aikido Associations, clubs, coaches and members across Great Britain.
